BELLVILLE LIONS CLUB
"WE SERVE"
The Bellville Lions Club has a proud history of service to our community for the past 85 years. The Club sponsors different fund-raising activities to generate the monies that are given back to the many different organizations and community projects. Some of the fund raising activities include the annual Fruehling Saengerfest, the Lions DEN (Dinner, Entertainment Night), a gun raffle, and a Super Bowl Square Board lotto.
From 2016 through 2024 the Bellville Lions Club has given over $800,000 to local organizations and other charities.

1n 1997 the Club acquired the Concordia Gesangverein Hall and property. With the idea to preserve the historic Concordia Hall and continue the German heritage, the Lions Club began to completely renovate the facilities so that it could be utilized for the betterment of the community. After two years or remodeling, completely renovated Concordia Hall became a reality.

In 2003, the Bellville Lions Club, along with the Bluebonnet Chapter of the Texas German Society held the first Fruehling Saengerfest (German Spring Singing Fest). The upcoming event will the the 23rd annual event and will be held on April 26, 2026. Each year the event has grown and is enjoyed by many.

The Club also purchases eyeglasses for needy students, as well as collects used eye glasses for the Lions of Texas eye glass recycling program. The Club joined the KidSight USA project and has screened over 1,500 local children up to six years old for vision disorders. Out of the 1,500 screened, 171 have been found to have some type of problem and have been referred for further diagnosis.

The Lions Club also funds $18,000 in scholarships each year to local junior or senior high school students from Bellville High School and Faith Academy who participate in our Lions Opportunities for Youth contests. We also sponsor the Peace Poster contest for junior high students.

The Lions Club was honored to help start and charter a LEO Club at Bellville High School in October 2020, and today there are over 80 active members.

Our motto is simply "WE SERVE". There is no better way to express the true mission of the Bellville Lions Club. Currently we have 106 members which meet on the first and third Thursday of each month at Concordia Hall.
